Sub: Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Cotton varieties for Cotton Season 2023-24 – reg.

 

This is to inform that the Office of the Textile Commissioner vide Order No. 1/20/2023-2/MSP/Cotton/5-59 dated 06.09.2023, has informed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has fixed the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of two basic varieties of cotton viz.

• Medium Staple Cotton having Staple Length of 24.5 to 25.5 mm with micronaire value of 4.3 to 5.1;
• Long Staple Cotton having Staple Length of 29.5 to 30.5 with micronaire value of 3.5 to 4.3;

of new crop of seed cotton (Kapas) of Fair Average Quality (FAQ) for Cotton Season 2023-24 (October-September).

The MSP of Medium Staple Cotton and Long Staple Cotton have now been fixed at Rs.6620/- (earlier Rs. 6,080/-) per quintal and Rs. 7020/- (earlier Rs. 6,380/-) per quintal, respectively.
