Dear Sir/Madam,
Greetings from CITI!
Global Silicones Council (GSC) is organising a Stakeholders Meeting for convincing the risk based, scientific weight of evidence (WoE) approach, which is beneficial for Industry and as well as for the environment on 24th May 2023 at 5:30 PM in ITC Maurya Hotel, New Delhi. The Stakeholders meeting will be followed Networking Dinner.
Global Silicones Council (GSC) is a trade association comprised of companies that produce and market silicone products internationally. It promotes the safe use of silicons through product stewardship and environmental, health and safety research.
Detailed information about GSC is attached for your reference.
GSC is propagating the below philosophy globally and getting good response from all stakeholders in Textile Value chains.
- On Aug 24, 2020 Draft Rules includes language providing for a risk-based, scientific weight-of-evidence (WoE) approach to chemical assessment and management in India.
- It is important that both hazard and exposure be considered in assessing chemical safety in India.
- Consideration of Hazard Only could heavily impact availability of Silicones in India.
- There is consensus among academic experts that a risk-based approach which considers exposure is essential for evaluating chemical safety.
- When a risk-based approach is used, regulatory officials have concluded that silicone materials are safe for human health and the environment when used as intended.
- No marketplace restrictions for any silicone material anywhere in the world except in Europe.
We would request you to kindly nominate your concerned senior official(s) to join the Stakeholders meeting and networking dinner. Please send an email to below official for getting invite from the organizer with a copy to mail@citiindia.org.
