This is to inform you all that BIS is conducting the 25^th meeting of the Man-made Fibres, Cotton and their Products Sectional Committee, TXD 31 on 29^th March 2023 at 11 AM under the Chairmanship of Dr P K Mandhyan, Principal Scientist, ICAR- Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (CIRCOT), Mumbai.

During the meeting the below given draft standards will be discussed for finalization:

• IS 7056: 1989 Cotton Towelling and Towels — Specification [Doc: TXD/31/21853]
• IS 175: 1989 Sheeting Tickings and Bedsheets —Specification [TXD 31 (21851)]
• IS 2136: 1988 Woven Flat Lining Fabrics for Apparels — Specification [TXD 31 (21852)]
• IS 5874: 1970 Specification for Grading of Viscose Rayon Cut Staple Fibres Regular [TXD 31 (21858)]
• IS 7056: 1989 Cotton Towelling and Towels — Specification [TXD 31 (21853)]
• IS 8429: 1988 Rayon Satin Lining Cloth for Berets — Specification [TXD 31 (21854)]
• IS 12637: 1988 Woven Upholstery Fabrics Plain Tufted or Flocked — Specification [TXD 31 (21855)]

The detailed agenda for the meeting is attached for the ready reference of members. You are requested to kindly go through the agenda items and share your observations/suggestions (if any) by 28^th March 2023 so that the same can be compiled and taken up during the meeting.

As you are aware that many of these standards are subsequently being used for the QCOs of these products, it is in the interest of the industry that there is a greater participation and understanding of the proposed standards so that these are aligned to industry’s requirement and expectations.

In case you wish to attend the above meeting please send your nomination by 28^th March 2023 so that BIS can be informed well in advance and necessary permission can be taken.
