Sub.: Request to attend webinar on innovative projects under the PAMC for the Scheme on Research and Development in the Textile Industry – reg.

Dear Sirs/Madam,

Ministry of Textiles has established the Project Appraisal and Monitoring Committee (PAMC) under the Scheme for Research and Development in the Textile Industry to advance research, innovation, and technology transfer across the sector. Chaired by the Textile Commissioner, Ms. Roop Rashi, the PAMC has been instrumental in evaluating and approving research proposals, allocating funds, and monitoring the progress of diverse projects that align with the industry’s strategic goals.

Through this scheme, various institutions, including premier research bodies like IITs, NIFT, and specialized textile research institutions such as the Bombay Textile Research Association (BTRA), are undertaking innovative projects.

CITI has planned a series of webinars for wider dissemination of these innovations to the industry and the stakeholders, and explore the possibility of large-scale commercialization of the same.

The first webinar of the series is planned in association with Bombay Textiles Research Association (BTRA)  as per the schedule below:

During the webinar below given innovative processes developed by BTRA will be showcased:

  • Development of highly efficient and functional finished reusable protective face mask
  • Plasma- mediated natural dyeing of Khadi of Cotton and Silk
  • Eco-friendly Natural Dyeing of Cotton and Silk using Rare Earths Metal Salts as Mordants

Textile Commissioner, Ms. Roop Rashi has agreed to be the Chief Guest for the webinar.
