Dear Sirs/Madam,
It is to inform the members that as communicated by the Cotton Corporation of India Ltd. (CCI), they had procured about 100 lakh bales under MSP operations this cotton season and commenced e-auctions from 19 January 2026 for disposal of these stocks.
To support FP cotton bales buyers through e-auction, CCI is conducting two auctions daily:
- Exclusive Auction for Mills: Reserved primarily for spinning mills
- Open auction: Open for all categories of buyers, including mills
Each day at least 50% of the stocks are reserved exclusively for mills offered and with a provision to increase allocation depending upon mill participation and requirements.
To assist mills in mitigating the risk of upward price fluctuations, CCI offers a lock-in period facility as outlined in the sales terms under which, on payment of ₹275 per bale per month, mills may secure cotton for a maximum period of 90 days from expiry of the lifting period, with provision for extension upon request.
Further, as informed by CCI, it intends to liquidate stocks by 31 July 2026 with lifting permitted up to 30 September 2026, and has indicated a phased release of quantities during March to July 2026 as given below:
| Month | Tentative Quantity to be sold (Lakh Bales) |
| March, 2026 | 31 |
| April, 2026 | 25 |
| May, 2026 | 19 |
| June, 2026 | 13 |
| July, 2026 | 6 |
Members are advised to plan their procurement strategy accordingly and actively participate in the daily auctions to secure quality cotton and manage price risk effectively.
A copy of the terms & conditions for the sale of FP bales for this season is attached for the kind reference of members.
Best Regards,
Chandrima Chatterjee
(Secretary General)
