POSITION: Manager – Operations, CITI Cotton Development and Research Association (CDRA) – Full Time.

JOB LOCATION: Mumbai / Delhi

ELIGIBILITY:

Required Skills and Experience

  • Preference for candidates with Ph.D. in Agricultural sciences with specialisation in cotton breeding
  • Project management qualifications especially in cotton farming.
  • familiarity with government policy and processes.
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • good interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to building and sustaining positive relationships with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders, as part of a team

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with Cotton Development and Research Association activities in various cotton growing States of India, including Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, etc with the support of Regional Coordinators.
  • Identification and Dissemination of good cotton technologies among cotton growers from the project areas through trainings, Farmers Field School, Field days and awareness camps.
  • Conducting Front Line demonstration programmes on farmers’ fields.
  • Coordination with Scientists and Officers of Agriculture Dept. and Krishi Vikas Kendras for imparting trainings to the cotton growers and other events.
  • Constitution of District Project Implementation Committees and periodical meetings at district level.
  • Preparation of Reports and Presentations for promotion of the activities conducted
  • Prior experience in grass root implementation of cotton development activities
  • Mobilising CSR funds for CDRA activities from Corporates and other Agencies,
  • Liaison with Government and Corporates for execution of CITI-CDRA projects

SALARY:

  • Negotiable, based on relevant experience and qualification.

About CITI Cotton Development and Research Association (CDRA):

CDRA is a social welfare initiative of Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI). Its projects are aimed at empowering the cotton farmers through Good Agricultural Practices (GAPS) for enhancing yield, reducing costs of production and increasing cotton farmers’ income. During 2020-21, the project activities covered 90,000 farmers in 1700 villages of Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and helped them achieve 30% extra yield of cotton lint per hectare.
