Revised RoDTEP Rates to fillip India’s T&A Exports – reg

New Delhi, Wednesday, January 11, 2023In a bid to rectify anomalies in the RoDTEP rates for certain products, the Ministry of Commerce has notified the revised rates for 65 HS codes in the Textile & Apparel Sector as a part of the implementation of the RoDTEP committee report. Corrections have been made in the rates and value caps of certain items in Chapters -52,  54, 55, 56, 57, and 60.

Shri T. Rajkumar, Chairman CITI, thanked the government for such a laudable step for the betterment of the Sector. Mr. Rajkumar also welcomed the recommendations of the RoDTEP committee. This implementation of the committee report will help important export items like Yarn & Fabric of Polyester and Viscose, denim fabric, the knitted fabric of cotton, etc., and will give a fillip to India’s Textile & Apparel Exports, which have been on the decline lately. The detailed HS code notified list is appended as an attachment.

Mr. Rajkumar further remarked that the notification could not have been better timed as India’s merchandise exports have been facing serious headwinds while the revised T&A list has greater potential for exports as the items notified in the list have already recorded more than US$ 2 Billion in exports in 2022. The detailed data is appended as an attachment.

RoDTEP has been one of the most important export promotion schemes that aims to refund duties, taxes, and levies borne on the exported product at the central, state, and local levels, including prior-stage cumulative indirect taxes on goods and services. He thanked the government for strengthening the scheme support. It will surely help achieve the desired target of 100 billion exports for the T&A sector, he said.
