Sub.: Webinar on New QCOs and Standards relevant to the textile value chain for better awareness creation – reg.
Dear Sirs/Madam,
India is one of the largest consumers of textile products in the world. Hence, there is a growing need and consciousness for better quality standards for the products entering into the domestic market. To address the health and safety concerns of the increasing textile imports, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is in the process of developing over 106 Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for the textile sector.
With deepening of Indian’s engagement with the global value chain as a result of the various Foreign Trade Agreements (FTAs) already concluded or in the pipeline, the need for better understanding and capacity building for global standards and the benefits of possible alignment of national and International standards, if any, can also be explored.
Keeping in mind the above developments and the need for the industry stakeholders to understand the textile Quality Control Orders (QCOs)/ standards, as also discus the industry’s concerns and suggestions in this regard, CITI in association with BIS is organising a Webinar on New QCOs and Standards relevant to the textile value chain.
Webinar will be organised on 12th September 2022 between 3.00 PM to 5.00 PM through Video Conference. The agenda of the Webinar is as follows :
