Dear Sirs/Madam,
CITI and SIMA in association with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) organised an Awareness Session on Understanding Impact of Quality Control Orders (QCOs) 2022 on MMF Textile Products on February 16, 2023 at 3:00 pm through virtual platform to discuss the imminent challenges arising out of implementation of QCOs and the possible solutions to mitigate the hardship that MMF Sector may face in the near future.
Shri T Rajkumar, Chairman, CITI delivered the Welcome Address and Shri J.K. Gupta, Head (Textiles), BIS made a detailed presentation on the “Technical Requirements under Quality Control Orders (QCOs) 2022 for MMF Textile Products” highlighting specifications/ physical requirements of forthcoming QCOs for the MMF Sector.
Shri Rakesh Mehra, Deputy Chairman, CITI, Shri R.K. Vij, Advisor, Indo Rama Synthetics (I) Ltd. and industry stakeholders raised various issues related to QCOs concerning MMF Sector which was well responded by Shri J.K. Gupta. He further stated that the Government’s objective is to make the entire eco-system robust and BIS is always ready for consultations if industry have any sort of issue on the present QCOs.
Shri Ravi Sam, Chairman, SIMA delivered the Concluding Remarks and thanked BIS for clarifying industry issues. He also thanked CITI & SIMA for conducting such an insightful Awareness Session and assured the industry stakeholders that their concerns, if any, will be taken up with the BIS and requested them to send their feedbacks to CITI & SIMA.
