Enabling of provisions for import of inputs by AA holders, EoU and SEZ units which are subjected to mandatory QCOs issued by Department of Chemicals and Petro-chemicals (DCPC) – reg

 

Dear Sir/Madam,

As you are aware that based on the requests received from member associations, Confederation of Indian Textile Industry along with other associations had requested  the Government to enable provisions for import of inputs by Advance Authorization (AA) holders, EoU and SEZ units which are subjected to mandatory Quality Control Orders (QCOs) issued by Department of Chemicals and Petro-chemicals (DCPC), as was provided for QCOs issued by Ministry of Textiles.

We are pleased to inform you that in order to provide relief to the industry, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT)-Department of Commerce vide public notice no. 10/2024-25 dated 6th June 2024 have provided the above requested exemption by including the Department of Chemicals & Petro-chemicals in the Appendix 2Y of the Para 2.03 (c) of Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023.

It may be noted that this notification is applicable with immediate effect and the Export Obligation Period for the products of Ministry of Textile and Department of Chemicals & Petro-chemicals would be restricted to 180 days from the date of clearance of import consignments in respect of QCO exemption.
