POSITION:
- Project Coordinator, CITI Cotton Development and Research Association (CDRA) – Full Time.
JOB LOCATION:
- Maharashtra (1 Vacancy)
- Madhya Pradesh (1 Vacancy)
ELIGIBILITY:
- MSc Agri. Or equivalent in Plant breeding/ Agronomy/ Entomology with minimum 5 years of field experience.
- Specialization in Cotton Cultivation will be an added advantage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaison building with the agriculture department/KVK/ATC/ARS etc.
- Participation in the programmes organized by agriculture department.
- Collection of climatological data and its interpretation in relation to crop growth, pest-disease occurrence etc for monthly progress report.
- Creating awareness about Best Agricultural Practises, pest management, clean harvest etc by organising FLDs, farmers trainings, FFS, Field days and Kisan mela and assure participation from farmers and other concerned agricultural departments.
- Identifying and creating activity calendar for the crop season.
- Practical trainings to scouts & farmers at campus and off campus level – crop stage specific & time specific.
- Conducting field visits for supervision of scout’s activity and solving problems faced by them & the farmers.
- Collection and maintenance of cotton cultivation related data for project areas at different levels like cluster, village, gram panchayat, farmers level and prepare monthly reports on the basis of same.
SALARY:
- Negotiable, based on relevant experience and qualification.
About CITI Cotton Development and Research Association (CDRA):
CDRA is a social welfare initiative of Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI). Its projects are aimed at empowering the cotton farmers through Good Agricultural Practices (GAPS) for enhancing yield, reducing costs of production and increasing cotton farmers’ income. During 2020-21, the project activities covered 90,000 farmers in 1700 villages of Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and helped them achieve 30% extra yield of cotton lint per hectare.
